In the 1840’s

For its 23rd edition the International Singing Competition in Clermont-Ferrand becomes more and more original regarding programs and collaborations. Auditions will select artists who hope their appearance in Clermont-Ferrand Competition will bring them recognition and support in their early career.

This new edition celebrates a specific era of our musical history : the last lights of July Monarchy during which Gaetano Donizetti presents his final comic opera and Félicien David creates works that are currently being rediscovered.

Prizes are engagements for opera, concert and recital performances with major artists for both the Clermont-Ferrand Centre Lyrique season and its prestigious partners’: Avignon Opera, Limoges Opera, Massy Opera, Reims Opera, Rouen Haute-Normandie Opera, Saint-Étienne Opera, Vichy Opera, Palazzetto Bru Zane – French Romantic Music Center (Venice - Italy), La Chaise-Dieu Festival...
